Ever wanted to hallucinate? Of course you have!

This unique app lets you trick your mind into something similar, by flashing bright patterns of light through the users closed eyes. This stimulates the optic nerve in a way that can cause the viewer to see colors, shapes, patterns and more. The effect can be subtle or intense, but is easily canceled by simply opening the eyes. This does not work for everyone, but was successful for 8 of 10 of those who tried it while in beta.

THIS APPLICATION IS NOT ABOUT WHAT IS ON THE SCREEN. IT IS ABOUT THE UNIQUE EFFECT THAT THE FLASHING PATTERNS HAVE ON THE VIEWERS OPTIC NERVE AND MIND. IT IS MEANT TO BE VIEWED THROUGH CLOSED EYES.

Google "dream machine" for more information on this effect and its origins.

Those who are having trouble seeing it- make sure youre in a moderately lit room and the devices brightness is all the way up. Relax and allow yourself to see it. Be patient, dont try to force it. Start the slider somewhere in the middle- if that doesnt work, slowly move it up or down. It should be fairly obvious when it starts to work.

This effect and its cause is well documented, and is similar to the effect the famous Dream Machine produces.

Three easy steps to a drug free trip with iHallucinate:

1) Crank brightness to max, launch iHallucinate
2) Put thumb on slider and iPhone up to closed eyes
3) Slowly adjust slider until you see colors, shapes, geometric patterns, etc.

Certain people respond best to certain frequencies so we designed the slider to easily and intuitively find the best one for you.

Works best when brightness is set to highest in a moderately lit room.

Try with music: iHallucinate is designed to let your iPod tracks play in the background for an even better experience.

Try with lower brightness settings in a totally dark room for different effects.
